    Westbury-on-Trym - 2024

To bring more life and colour to a small back garden. By installing a frame with some trellis the space become more enclosed, and the borders were filled with wildlife friendly plants. The addition of old tree trunks acted as scultptural elemants as well as attracting insects which in turn attracts bird life.

  • The Team

    Jon

Jon has been gardening for 10 years. His interest first grew when volunteering on a variety of organic farms in Asia, and continued in the UK working for a landscaping company alongside volunteering for a horticultural therapy charity.

After Jon moved to Bristol in 2015 he studied on the RHS course at the Botanic Gardens. Jon the Gardener was set up in 2016 and he has been looking after and creating gardens in and around Bristol ever since. His been inspired by various gardens he has visited throughout the country, including Great Dixter, Hidcote and Arundel Castle.

His passion is bringing as much life back into the garden, through creating diverse areas and planting schemes. As well as maintening them in a way which encourages wildlife to flourish, trying to straddle both the cultivated and the wild.

    Ellie

Ellie joined the team in 2024 having also studied on the RHS course at the Botanic Gardens in Bristol.

She has an enlivening passion for plants, insects, birds and moss. She's currently working on a project for Glastonbury 2025 for Shangri-La where she's creating a ring of wildflowers for an installation inspired by crop circles.

Ellie is due to study Garden Design at the Botanic Gardens this Autumn.

  • TESTIMONIALS

Jon was recommended to us by a friend and we have never regretted having him come to us. He is willing to tackle
large clearing jobs as well as general maintenance work. He always seems cheerful even in the wettest weather!
I would be happy to recommend him.

    Sheenagh, Failand

We hired Jon last year to work on our garden and he did a fab job. He suggested lots of changes that resulted in a good looking garden with flowers and greenery for most part of the year. He is knowledgeable and very passionate about his work.

    Deepak, Bradley Stoke
